Description

Our Lady Aparecida is the patroness of Brazil and one of the most important religious figures in the country. Her story begins in 1717, when three fishermen found an image of Our Lady of the Conception in the waters of the Paraíba do Sul River, in São Paulo. The image was taken to a local chapel, where it quickly began to attract many devotees.

Over time, the image of Our Lady Aparecida became a symbol of hope and devotion for many Brazilians, especially the poorest. In 1930, Pope Pius XI declared Our Lady Aparecida as the official patroness of Brazil, an important recognition for the faith and devotion of the Brazilian people.

The statue of Our Lady Aparecida is a tribute to this important figure in Brazilian culture and religion. Her presence in Brazilian homes and churches is a testament to the devotion of the faithful and her importance to the history and culture of Brazil.
