Jesus Christ is the most important historical and religious figure in existence. His life and time on earth were so impactful that entire civilizations and societies were built on his teachings. Even in the way we count the passage of time. Modern historians may try to change the acronym, but the truth is immutable. Our years are counted from the birth of Christ, in Anno Domini. Jesus built the Holy Catholic Church of Rome on his apostle Peter, and even after centuries of schisms and reforms, Christianity remains the largest religion in the world.
Far beyond his historical importance, he is also religiously important. Jesus is the son of God, the prophesied messiah, born of the Virgin Mary. His coming to earth, recorded in the gospels of his apostles, teaches a story of love and compassion, of mercy and forgiveness to a world plunged into darkness. Above all, it is a story of salvation.
Two thousand years after his death, we celebrate his birth at Christmas and his resurrection at Easter. We pray in His name and we unite in matrimony before the altar of His church. In respect and reverence, we made this statue of Christ, with His Sacred Heart, symbol of His love for all of God's children.
