Jesus Christ is the most significant historical and religious figure that exists. His life and time on Earth were so impactful that entire civilizations and societies were built upon His teachings—even the way we measure time is influenced by Him. Modern historians may try to change the abbreviation, but the truth remains immutable: our years are counted from the birth of Christ, in Anno Domini. Jesus established the Holy Catholic Church of Rome through His apostle Peter, and even after centuries of schisms and reforms, Christianity remains the largest religion in the world.
Beyond His historical significance lies His religious importance. Jesus is the Son of God, the prophesied Messiah, born of the Virgin Mary. His coming to Earth, as recorded in the Gospels by His apostles, tells a story of love and compassion, mercy and forgiveness, in a world engulfed in darkness. Above all, it is a story of salvation.
Two thousand years after His death, we celebrate His birth at Christmas and His resurrection at Easter. We pray in His name and unite in marriage before the altar of His Church. In respect and reverence, we have crafted this statue of Christ, featuring His Sacred Heart, a symbol of His love for all God's children.
