Lucifer, the Morning Star, son of the dawn, and bearer of light. The brightest among the children of God, the most celebrated of archangels. His virtues were immense, but as great as they were, so was his pride. And because of that, Lucifer rose in rebellion against the divine throne, and a third of the heavenly hosts joined him until Michael ended the uprising.
His fall was profound, into the void that would come to be known as Sheol, Hell. There, he was condemned to watch over the souls of the damned until the reckoning of the Apocalypse. Since then, he has been known by many names: the dark archangel, fallen angel, devil, demon, Satan, Lucifer. The Adversary. Since ancient times, he has been depicted in various forms within Christianity.
He is the adversary, the embodiment of all evil and the origin of sin, the corrupter of Eden. Yet he is also a tragic figure in search of a paradise lost due to his own errors—a cautionary tale. Whatever the truth may be, his shadow is long, and whispers of his being haunt humanity to this day, even in an age of science and skepticism.
