Lucifer, the Morning Star, son of the dawn, bearer of light. The brightest of God's children, the most famous of archangels. His virtues were immense, but as great as they were, so was his pride. And because of it, Lucifer rose in rebellion against the divine throne, and a third of the celestial hosts joined him until Michael ended the insurgency.
His fall into the void, which would come to be known as Sheol, the Hell, was profound. There, he was condemned to watch over the souls of the damned until the reckoning in the Apocalypse. Since then, he has been known by many names: Dark Archangel, Fallen Angel, Devil, Demon, Satan, the Enemy. Since ancient times, he has been represented in various forms in Christianity.
He is the adversary, the embodiment of all evil, the origin of sin, the corrupter of Eden. But he is also a tragic figure in search of a lost paradise due to his own mistakes, a cautionary tale. Whatever the truth, his shadow is long, and sighs over his being haunt humanity to this day, even in the age of science and skepticism.
