Jesus Christ is the most important historical and religious figure that exists. His life and time on Earth were so impactful that entire civilizations and societies were built on His teachings. Even the way we measure the passage of time is rooted in His life. Modern historians may attempt to change the abbreviation, but the truth remains unaltered. Our years are counted from the birth of Christ, in Anno Domini. Jesus established the Holy Catholic Church of Rome upon His apostle Peter, and even after centuries of schisms and reforms, Christianity remains the world’s largest religion.
Far beyond His historical importance, His religious significance is paramount. Jesus is the Son of God, the prophesied Messiah, born of the Virgin Mary. His coming to Earth, recorded by the gospels of His apostles, teaches a story of love and compassion, of piety and forgiveness, to a world submerged in darkness. Above all, it is a story of salvation.
Two thousand years after His death, we celebrate His birth at Christmas, and His resurrection at Easter. We pray in His name and unite in marriage before the altar of His church. In respect and reverence, we created this statue of Christ, with His Sacred Heart, symbolizing His love for all the children of God.
