Jesus Christ is the most important historical and religious figure that exists. His life and time on earth were so impactful that entire civilizations and societies were built upon his teachings. Even the way we tell the passage of time is shaped by his life. Modern historians may try to change the abbreviation, but the truth is immutable. Our years are counted from the birth of Christ, in Anno Domini. Jesus founded the Holy Catholic Church of Rome upon his apostle Peter, and even after centuries of schisms and reforms, Christianity remains the largest religion in the world.
Beyond his historical significance, it is his religious importance. Jesus is the Son of God. The prophesied Messiah, born of the Virgin Mary. His coming to earth, recorded by the Gospels of his apostles, teaches a story of love and compassion, of piety and forgiveness to a world immersed in darkness. Above all, it is a story of salvation.
Two thousand years after his death, we celebrate his birth at Christmas and his resurrection at Easter. We pray in His name and unite in marriage before the altar of His church. In respect and reverence, we created this statue of Christ, with His Sacred Heart, the symbol of His love for all of God's children.
