Description

Hephaestus, in Greek mythology, is the god of fire and metallurgy, and is also considered the patron of blacksmiths, artisans, and sculptors. He is the son of Zeus and Hera, and was born with a deformity in his legs, which led his mother to reject him and his father to throw him from the top of Mount Olympus.

He fell into the sea, where he was rescued by the Cyclopes, who taught him the craft of working with metals. From then on, Hephaestus became a master blacksmith, creating powerful weapons for the gods and heroes, as well as mechanical wonders such as Helios' golden chariot and the golden servants who worked in his palace on Olympus.

Hephaestus is often depicted working at his forge, striking hot metals with his hammer. Despite his lameness, he is respected by all the gods for his skill, intelligence, and extraordinary craftsmanship.
