Among the celestial beings, few are as renowned as Archangel Michael. This warrior spirit has a reputation that sets him apart from the other archangels. Michael is the sword of God, the weapon of the heavens against the forces of darkness.
According to Catholic and Orthodox teachings, Michael is the leader of the heavenly host, who cast out the dark archangel, Lucifer, from the heavens and condemned him and his demonic legions to hell. He will also lead the final triumph against evil.
The Catholic Church believes that, in addition to his leadership role in heaven, Michael represents death and is responsible for bringing to paradise those who deserve it. His third role is as the judge of souls, and lastly, he is the patron of the chosen people of the Old Testament, who gave birth to the Savior.
Above all, Michael embodies honor and duty in the face of the chaos and disunity represented by the devil. He is the avatar of victory.
